CASA MAKES PEOPLE HAPPIER

The show CASA by Companhia de Dan?a D?bora Colker brought to Jos? de Alencar Theatre last week one of the most interesting choreographies seen at this playhouse. It is a real show. Colker’s 65-minute work is an arresting example of acute technique and her dancers’ extraordinary prowess, which requires super human balance and control, do it as if they were strolling at a park.

The production’s coup de th??tre is a 6-ton house by Grinco Cardia, where Colker and her dancers occupy every space with stylistic grace. It is dazzling! "This is the most mature work of my career", said Colker at a press conference and she was certainly right. The dancers are super fit, the set is gorgeous and the soundtrack is fundamental to gobble you up and make you feel like dancing with them many a time.

To perform universally familiar activities, Colker hit the target wittily, transforming the fastidiousness of everyday gestures into an inventive and engaging work. Ms. Colker admitted in one of her interviews that CASA makes people happier. This is the downright truth.
